Re: Properties Palette 9.0.3

On Xubuntu 32-bit Property Palettes sometimes don't open fully, and cannot be dragged open. - props.png - I should point out that this happens erratically. I also noticed it in macOS 10.14.4 betas 2 and 3. Good news: it's not limited to the OSes you specified. Bad news: it's not limited to the OSes...

Re: Refering to INKs by using numbers?

A number might be better if one wanted to cycle through all the modes automatically. http://ssp.impulsetrain.com/porterduff.html How often does anyone do that LiveCode? I'm with Terry on this. Clumsy as the names are, they refer to the underlying well-known algorithms. Those classic names rarely ha...

Re: Refering to INKs by using numbers?

They seem almost equally forgettable to me, but perhaps the current constants a bit better, since their names are at least consistent with some OS (and perhaps Skia) graphics correlaries. And once in a while they're even consistent with the bitwise operators in LC (well, XOR, maybe others). Under wh...

Re: Communicate with a webdav server

I haven't used WebDAV from LC yet, but I'll need to in the coming months. What header fields do you need to set? Perhaps I can put that into an example for both of us.

The System Info window confirms LC is now 64-bit. What is the dialog box complaining about?

Re: Tools Palette likes to disappear

Trying hard to convert everything to Linux from Windows. I have been experimenting with LC for a couple of weeks and have found it interesting. Just installed 9.0.3 stable and this problem still exists. This problem has existed for at least 2 version in the Linux IDE and don't understand why it has...

Re: Quoting between substacks

You can set any property of any object in any stack, even if it's not been explicitly opened. You didn't try. Did you? Do you imagine I took the time to post the steps above merely randomly? Did you try it? Make a new stack (="Untitled 1") with one field and save it as </path/to/file/a.livecode>. T...

Re: Quoting between substacks

Craig, your test omits a key element from mine in its search for simplicity, something that's easy to overlook from a HyperCard background but can be very powerful - you wrote: But if it was never opened in the current session, LC has no idea it even exists. It depends on how you refer to the stack....

Re: Quoting between substacks

Richard. You can set any property of any object in any stack, even if it's not been explicitly opened. In a new session, a stack has to be opened, though it can then be closed, for another stack to access its controls and properties. And if the destroyStack property of the target stack is set, and ...

So this will work:

Re: Hirens Boot CD?

Kudos for the heroic attempt to extend the service life of hardware. The more we repair rather than replace, we slow the rate at which we need new landfills, while preserving raw materials for future generations.

Re: Hirens Boot CD?

Is this legal? Its web site claims it is, and enough tech sites mention it that I'm inclined to agree. Friend's Windows PC is seriously defragged: 10 years of Windows XP with Zero maintenance. XP is too old to be safe, so tuning it will be of no value. Other suggestions? You know my recommendation ...

Re: Making Windows Standalone Livecode 9 vs 7

I would suggest trying v9.0.2, as that's the latest Stable build, and I know the team has been working on some Windows issues. If you see the same result, you might try the latest Developer Preview release, currently v9.0.3rc2. These and more are available here: https://downloads.livecode.com/liveco...
