Re: [ANN] Release LiveCode 9.6.10 STABLE

Repeating what I just reported on the List, LC Versions 9.6.3, 9.6.9, and 10.0.0 all give me the “LiveCode quit unexpectedly" on launch after upgrading to Sonoma v14.0 on my Mac, And no, Reopen does not work either. I subsequently downloaded 9.6.10 and indeed it does work in Sonoma. My question now ...

In a world with quantum mechanics, all times are simultaneously the best of times and the worst of times. :)
Thank you, Richard! I love this idea and will keep it in mind forevermore.

Re: Managing colour selection on Windows

I too made my own that allows saving color sets (by project name or whatever). It's called ColorPiquer and is available in Sample Stacks or here:

Re: Is there a simple equation for this?

We must, in LC, simulate the fact that the cell knows in which direction its target lies. As I said earlier, we are not cheating when we use LC tools to do that. I do not see any difference at all in the two methods. Someone tell me why... Craig Craig, FYIW, I agree with you. I'm just laying low be...

Re: Is there a simple equation for this?

AJ, I hope you are not getting discouraged as this kind of stuff is great fun and wonderfully rewarding. I think you are on the right track . . . come up with some simple rules and then figure out how to code those rules.

Good luck and keep posting.

Re: Is there a simple equation for this?

This is a very interesting thread for me as I tend to agree that what appears as intelligent and complex behavior sometimes, at least, can be due to simple rules. This is what Boids is all about. Thanks to the kind recommendation from Stan, I uploaded a cleaned up version of FlockOBoids.2022. I was ...

Re: Cascading(?) Drop Down Menus with Pop Up Image?

Richard,

I was just trying to assemble list fields to act like a cascading menu, but obviously passing mouse events from one control to another dynamically is difficult.

Ya, I thought this would be easy, but I am indeed finding it to be "cumbersome", and not at all straight forward!

Re: Cascading(?) Drop Down Menus with Pop Up Image?

Hi Jon,

Yes of course this can be done in LC, but you'll have to build your own from scratch. Unless, of course, somebody else has already done it and is willing to share. If no one else responds, I'll help you get started over the next few days.

Cheers,

Thank you for your very kind words, Renaud. As a Physicist it is the work I am most proud of. Apparently the zipped file at 4.5 MB is bigger than the Forums will permit. But, if anyone has trouble finding it Sample Stacks or if you prefer, Just drop me a note and I will email it direct. Thanks and c...
