I understand what you are saying, Mark - allow me to rephrase my question:

Why would the code "after" the send not execute (I was sending immediately)? Are these immediate messages implemented as blocking calls?

Synchronous messaging?

Does Rev using blocking (synchronous) messaging?

Just debugged a piece of code that sends a mouseUp to a button before doing a few more things. I had accidentally disabled the button and then the code after the send did not get executed anymore....

TIA,
Kai

Look at screenRect() and screenLoc() - (and their "See Also"s) - they should take you there...

Mark ~

can't tell you about differences between ID and standalone since I am developing on a MacMini and a 21 inch with 1600 x 1200 but deploying on an iMac with 1400 x 900 (among others).

No menubars.

Simple "set the loc of this stack to the screenloc"...

I'll take your word for it.

The docs are poorly written in part! In the example stated, if see a line saying ...'in window "Part 2" I infer that this refers to a second window.

That's just the way my brain works.

Guess I will take your blendlevel approach then - thanks!

Then how would you interpret this? The visual effect command affects only navigation within a window. If you want to create a transition effect when moving between stacks, use the go...in window form of the go command: visual effect wipe down go stack "Index" in window "Part 2" -- replaces stack on ...

Visual effects going to substack?

Not working - what am I doing wrong. Docs say to use 'go .. in window' in this case - at least that's how I interpret it. TIA, Kai --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- on openStack send "Continue" to me in 3 seconds end openStack -------------...

Excellent explanation - but then the Rev people really need to clearly mark these cases in the documentation - I certainly thought I was dealing with predefined constants (which they really could - and should? - be)

Thanks,

Yes, Malte, indeed I have. But what's the solution then? I do not understand how these things relate? If, for instance, the 'dissolve' is really a variable parameter it must already be defined for the engine to act upon it. So why would the engine bitch about it (irregardless of these settings)? TIA...

That's what I thought!

2.8.1 Build 470
OS X 10.4.10

Does anyone else see this? Maybe my Rev install got damaged somehow?
Which files should yield which checksums?

Thanks for any help

Kai
