who has experience with mp4 videos on windows?
Hello, I still have trouble playing mp4-h.264 videos on some windows machines since some time. I have installed the LAV-filters, which work fine for h.264 on windows. Where my program can play my videos on most windows machines without any problems, there are some single computers, where the video s...

Re: Intel QSV H.264 codec for AVFoundation and DirectShow
Hi Oliver, thanks for your reply. My experiences the last years showed, that there are big differences in compatibility within different codecs, coding the same "standard" like H.264. E.g. I used a Sorenson codec H.264 for an android project and it showed that not all android standard video player c...

What do I have to prepare if enabling Hi-DPI scaling?
Hello, Up to now I haven't enabled the Hi-DPI scaling for Windows standalones and since I don't have a hi-dpi monitor I can't test the difference of my standalones. Do I have to prepare anything different, if I enable the hi-DPI scaling? Is it necessary to exchange all images by images with higher r...

How experimental is OS X 64-Bit mode?
Hello, working with LC 8.1.1 I would like to prepare my programs for the next future as long as possible. I wouldn't like to produce a new 64 Bit standalone for all of my programs in a year, if in a year Apple makes 64 Bit mandatory. Since some versions I could create an OS X 64-Bit Mode standalone,...

Intel QSV H.264 codec for AVFoundation and DirectShow
Hello, I made some tests with LC 8.1.0 dp1 to find a video codec solution, as a replacement for QuickTime which fits for both platforms windows and OS X. I am looking for the most standardized state of the art codec to get a maximum of compatibility on both platforms, so I think H.264 is the right c...

Re: Which video container and codec resommended?
Hi Klaus,
yes I have read that thread, just starting my own tests, but since I have to have the same video running on Win and OS X and AVFoundation doesn't support Sorenson, I have to re-decode my videos with a modern cross-platform codec.
Thanks for the hint

Which video container and codec resommended?
Hello,
when creating new videos today, which should be most compatible on as many Windows and OS X systems and beeing as modern as possible, which video container would you recommend when heading to work with LC 8.1 with DirectShow and AVFoundation?
mp4 with h.264?
Thanks for any recommendations

Cursor doesn't change to resize arrow
Hello, LC 8.0 the main stack has set resizable to true and resizing works on my W10, W8 and OSX machine. Now I found a W7 Sony Vaio notebook, where the mouse cursor doesn't chage to the "resize-double-arrow", when hovering the edge of the window in a standalone. Windows from other programs can be re...

Re: Help! No more Quicktime on Windows - and now??
All of my programs are based havily on video playback with slowmotion etc. and I need a compatible cross-platform solution, as it was announced as one of the extended crowdfunding targets. As I wrote already in the use list it is important for me that I can use the same video file format and video c...

SOLVED
I am not quit sure, because I tried different things, but think it was an incompatible version of revxml.dll or revzip.dll.
After I copied the newest versions of those dlls from the LC 8 installation dir into my test environment, the failure was gone.
