Re: Sprite sheets

I recently saw a demo of using a sprite sheet with a group doing the clipping and it worked well. I believe that the performance of that method is much better than you can get showing different images.

Re: Free & Paid app versions

You can do both. There are several apps that I have where the free version can be upgraded to the full version via in app purchase and a full version is also sold separately.

Re: iPhone xr recommended fullscreenmode?

I think that a background pattern will fill the screen as well. You do not need to exactly fill the screen just as long as the background image is as large or larger than the virtual coordinates of the scaled screen size. My code was demonstrating that I could draw a box outline that traced the outl...

Re: iPhone xr recommended fullscreenmode?

See: https://github.com/bwmilby/mobileDemo Specifically the SetBackground handler here: https://github.com/bwmilby/mobileDemo/blob/master/mobileDemo_Scripts/stack_MobileDemo_card_id_1002.livecodescript Using showAll you can set a background object a precise size to cover the whole screen. Unfortunat...

Re: iOS app has begun opening very slowly

It isn’t needed in the built app but does make setting up the profiles easier in the IDE. Depending on how complex the UI is, it may be easier to just write the resizeStack handler to account for orientation and size changes manually. Here is another mobile demo that has a manual resizeStack handler...

Re: iOS app has begun opening very slowly

You no longer need to manually include the common and profile library scripts in LC 9 like you are doing. That was something that I had to do before the IDE was updated to support those inclusions in mobile. You also probably are going to want to verify the fullscreenmode since it may not work as ex...

Re: Mac 64-bit standalone

Yes. There is a utility called “lipo” that removes the extra code (it is what the builder does).

Re: Mac 64-bit standalone

Correct, you get a “fat” app that contains both versions.

Re: ANN: Script Tracker

Just a quick note that I've separated SciptTracker out into its own repository: https://github.com/bwmilby/scriptTracker I also added a brief description of how to initially set up a stack for GitHub (but not the actual details on how to use GitHub). That is in the README which you will see if you c...

Re: Enhancing the Tree View widget

Since the clickCount = 1 code comes first currently, the revised block would need to be moved up. The length of the display name is pretty limited too. I was thinking "Menu Mode" which would describe the use case. Since it also impacts the action message, I think it does need to be more general than...

Re: Phantom pathname

It's been a long time since I tried reverse engineering the file format. If so motivated, no reverse engineering is required (at least for non-encrypted stacks) since we can read the source. Having looked at it briefly a while back it is a little curious that data is hanging around. There was a bug...

Re: Enhancing the Tree View widget

Everything needed to do most of that is in the branch I have. Some is actually done in LCS based on messages/properties that are available. The only size piece not done is the icons. 5 could be implemented fairly easily. A menu mode property could be added that would only allow a single expansion at...

Re: Icon Picker

The plugin is just a tool to manage families. For an app you would export the family as a LSON file and then import the family into the iconsvg library when the app starts. Left/right arrows move between pages of icons. Up/down moves between families. (If it does not work right away, select browse m...

Re: Enhancing the Tree View widget

I do recall a LCG topic where some things were done with the widget. I just did some custom code that allowed for the text size to be adjusted and a few other things for targeting mobile. I have not worked a PR up to get it pushed into the production code though. What other items were you thinking s...

Re: Icon Picker

See my SvgIconTool stack: https://milby.us/lc/SvgIconTool.zip That version has all of the icons included. The one on LiveCode share is bare. You can set the current icon family. Once set, whenever you use the icon picker, it will use the current family and display those icons. Here's a link to the t...
