Re: LiveCode Marketing Suggestions

may even draw readers in farther. Um . . . I do feel that LiveCode have declined re their out-reach recently. What copy-n-paste do we want to see that we could not do ourselves in less time than asking them to do it? Copy/paste? I would think it would be easier to just automate the posting to post ...

Re: LiveCode Marketing Suggestions

That's pretty, bl**dy silly: I looked up "Hanoverian supporters" loads of times And if there was a programming language called "Hanoverian supporters", you alone might have made it hit the list  Like I said, I can see the reasoning behind the metric, however even someone as unsophisticated as...

Re: Is livecode dead?

I thought from the way you were talking, it finally broke the top 50 on the list  The ratings are calculated by counting hits of the most popular search engines While I suppose it is as good a measure as any other (I also read a lot about why it isn't :P ), like all else in the world wide time ...

Re: Returning to LiveCode

The dictionary <sigh> :? I don't know what they were thinking with that, and I don't use the newer version enough to really comment effectively on it. Brian on the other hand could probably tell you all about it :D In some ways, I think the dictionary improved. Certainly at least the guide(s) are be...

Confirmed, thank you whoever you are  (I hope Damien fixes those spelling errors though).

Re: Printing to pdf issue

I can understand sticking with an older version temporarily , I'm a bad example of that statement :P but anything prior to 9 is frozen in time, and as such risks being one OS change away from non-functioning. Alternatively, sometimes the bugs you know are easier to deal with than the ones you can o...

Re: What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

I don't run Ubuntu, so I'm thinking this probably won't be as helpful to you, but I find the IDE works great on Fluxbox. In this case, Fluxbox running on Antix, using the SLIM dm. The whole setup is fast as heck, and Fluxbox is one of the lighter DEs around (even more miserly than LXDE). I often hav...

Re: Printing to pdf issue

I had completely separate issues previously when trying to compile it in LC 8.1.8, like the fonts coming out all the wrong sizes. Given that all the features had worked previously for so long on 7.0.6, we stuck with it. Yah, your experiences look pretty parralel to mine. 8.x from all I understand w...

Re: DataTree , NativeDoc and NativeGeometry on github

Looks good (as does the actual site), but I did notice a spelling error when scanning the pages where you have "Embeed" instead of "Embed".

Elsewise looks great :D

My misunderstanding then, and my apology Richard. Everything else I said though is still the way I would proceed.

Re: Printing to pdf issue

Lc7 is old as Richard puts it, but suggesting upgrading doesn't really answer his question. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I have a suggestion either. That something apparently is different on this one system seems obvious, however you said it was working on that distro previously. What were the circum...

Re: Multi Threadedness ?

I wish I could free up some time, I haven't done any serious coding in the last month, and at the moment it looks like I won't have time to do any for the next 6 either (unless something really breaks loose :D ).
