Re: Standalone settings screen hidden by menu

I think she is talking about the standalone settings dialog Klaus, and certainly that could pose a problem if it somehow was in back of the top menu bar (not sure how it would get there, but I could see it happening). Selection_003.png On Linux, you could simply hold your alt key and move the window...

Re: cAPITAL lETTER pROBLEM

Bogs. LC cannot do what you imply in your handler. You cannot even determine the case of, say, the first char of the name of a control, since the caseSensitive property does not hold in that arena. You must find another reference to work with. Richmond needs to rename his images. Is the dictionary ...

Re: cAPITAL lETTER pROBLEM

In the code I gave as an example, what the system likes or doesn't shouldn't matter. In the example, your taking the name of the target, from your example, image "a" or image "A", getting the 2nd word of the name (which will either be a or A), and determining where to send the message based on that,...

Re: Checking whether external image file exists

Hm... if Monty already has the folder part working, couldn't he just look for the file in 'the Files' list for that folder?

Code: Select all

(set the folder in the path to the current folder)
put ".png" after tmpImage
if tmpImage is among the lines of the files then
// your code to deal with the image
end if

Re: cAPITAL lETTER pROBLEM

Just curious as I don't use simple naming, my controls and variables I usually name like I did in Delphi, cmdName(button), txtName(fields), grpName(groups), etc. (it helps fix an issue Jacque made me aware of with variables winding up tExt, as well as nigh guaranteeing I never use a reserved word :w...

Re: Furniture

Works on linux here, Richmond. To test, I enabled 3 docks. https://s33.postimg.cc/e1jdej4p7/Workspace_1_003.png What I found was that if the docks were set to autohide, then the amount for those hidden ones aren't taken into account, when not set to hide, the panels are taken into account. Selection...

Re: How to share buttons and fields across cards

Glad I could help :) In the case where it did not work, if the 2nd card was already existing when you grouped the controls and set the shared property, they wouldn't be placed on it automatically, only on new cards going forward. I don't know if that is what happened with your case, but it is the on...

Re: Unable to install LC 9 on Ubuntu 18.04

Couple of questions.

Is this a fresh Ubuntu install, or older install updated to 18.04? What is the output of the terminal window when you use sudo to attempt the install?

I don't think anythings 'missing' per se, I think he is saying that the working screenRect and effective working screenRect are reporting the same dimensions. Unless you're using multiple monitors that should be what we expect, no? No, I don't think that would be the expected behavior, at least, no...

Re: How to share buttons and fields across cards

For the controls you want to show up on every card, you want to group them, then click the 'sharedBackground' property of the group.

Re: Furniture

Erm, yes, quite that Jacque :D In fact, I used that very code when creating the visual layout for this dialog, then scaled everything so that the pictures would show fairly correctly (the application size would look like that on screen for the size given).
