Re: Not declaring Local Variables and script works ! why declaring them then ?

What about NOT declaring a local variable, I can see that LC still handles very well my script when I skip declaring some local variables... Can someone give sample where when NOT declaring a local variable you get wrong results or errors.. ? Well, IF I read your question right, I think I can give ...

Re: Push Notification using Firebase

Not necessarily, as there are many ways to do almost anything. I couldn't answer your question, though, since I don't have any familiarity with mobile of any kind, so in my case in this instance it is simply ignorance that prevents me from helping. Other people more familiar with mobile dev. may not...

Re: New to LiveCode- Issue with Documentation

I started poking around in 6.x and 7.x, and found you could also get to what I saw in Mc by going to the dictionary -> object (field is the base object for a table field) -> then sort by [Type]. Selection_003.png If your in 8.x, you can open the dictionary, go to associations: -> field Selection_004...

Re: Format Date dd/mm/yyyy in objet field

On Windows, please note that a date before 01/01/1970 will not validate at all, regardless of the system date settings. couldn't you just grab the seconds since then, and convert it to date? *Edit - On reflecting about it a bit more, I think I'd use the date function, then put the items in whatever...

You know, somewhere I seem to remember having found all the properties for all the objects in the docs, but danged if I remember where I was looking at the time. Probably when I was going through Mc

My first master's degree is in psych. But as my second is in ethics, I have too many qualms about the first to properly manipulate anyone and must instead dabble in linguistics :P
Oh I liked that one

Re: Field Scroll Problem

Hm. I was diddling around with fields this morning in the quest for more knowledge, there is another place the code I put might be universally targeting a field, and that is in the 'on closeField' handler. Note though, if used, be specific on the field you want it to target, and pass it if you have ...

Re: completing Script function in Autofill Mode ? what key next ?

Oh my bad, this is the first 'scripting' language I ever used that I wasn't just using a plain text editor to write code in. When I said - the way a lot of languages I used previously did it, I was referring to languages like Delphi, Ms Visual Studio, etc. I have noticed though that many coding text...

Re: completing Script function in Autofill Mode ? what key next ?

Thank you Panos, that certainly makes sense, as it is the way a lot of languages I used previously did it, tab being a more natural reach than the arrow keys.

Curious to know if the right arrow also still works though? If not, is the use of tab going to be made backwards compatible to 8.x?

Re: New to LiveCode- Issue with Documentation

As I was poking around (like I am wont to do on occasion), I did think of another way to see all the properties of an object without having to write any code. If you open the property inspector for the object your curious about, you can go to the 'property profiles' section. If you click the + sign ...

Re: LiveCode 651/704 on Raspi 3 running Raspbian Stretch

I don't thinks so, because it has to be build for the ARM processor. This is what makes me wonder, but unfortunately my familiarity with how the update process works still is fogging my ability to guess what would happen. At this point, I think one of two things - ...if there is no update to the en...
