Re: Realm persistent local database library

No, it’s not a big project for someone who know what he is doing. Isn't that kind of the same as saying "It doesn't take much to knock up 4 walls and put a window into one of them...." then compare building a house to it? Describing something in generalities is almost always *easy*, coding the spec...

Re: Remote DB Lib

Yah, I can believe that, he did just launch another book after all. I wasn't thinking of contact through the forums PM system, though, I was thinking more along the lines of alternate contacts he has setup. I hate to say it, but much as I like using the forums tools, lots of others rarely put up wit...

Re: Remote DB Lib

Wish I could help, I don't do much with even local dbs, as I generally just use flat files myself. Curious, did you try reaching out to Andre himself? He is pretty approachable, and an authority on the subject of his stuff for sure.

Re: How to change current stack

Heh, I'm glad you found the answer, because I think I am getting more confuzzled https://i.postimg.cc/c4KJKRQ7/silly2.gif Just so I don't spend a sleepless night, the way I read your first post, I saw something like this in (whats left of) my mind (which aint much) - Selection_001.png So while what ...

Re: How to change current stack

Without a better description of your stacks setup, or a picture perhaps of the two stacks, it would be tough to diagnose. For instance, does your substack have a button control (of any type) on it? If so, just using button 1 will never work, since your sub stack has a button 1 as well. You might, *i...

Re: Align Controls still not fixed

Well, instead of just pouting, you could try Bernd's handy little aligner (yes, I know that is not a *fix*, but it does work very well :D ) If you ever worked in Delphi (or FPC/Lazarus), you might even find it better than the built in mode. It certainly is less conspicuous, and certainly faster than...

Re: Meeting: Dec 6, Pasadena

Well, if he sobered up, there is only one thing left to do. Send him down to the local 'Lefty Lucky' smoke shop and get him toked up till he comes back (away) from his senses, I hear that is legal there now :D

Re: Creating forum/comment web pages using Livecode

And since I am essentially housebound at the moment, I went looking for (but didn't find yet) the thread I was talking about. However, I *did* find this thread , which may help somewhat to give you a basic outline for a db based chat. The thread I am thinking of, though, didn't require a db per se I...

Re: Meeting: Dec 6, Pasadena

These are very informal meetings, usually including a meal. Not the most interesting thing on TV. :) I dunno, some of us might enjoy living vicariously through your informal meeting :D Maybe after the meal is over (since watching people eat might be considered rude) you guys could video the informa...

Re: BB Private Message storage limits...

What would be an ideal limit? I can make time to write Support if you haven't already. I had meant to get back to you yesterday, but managed to get hit pretty hard with the flu, so this may not be completely coherrent. I would think the upper limit for folders should be unlimited. Folders take up, ...

Re: Creating forum/comment web pages using Livecode

Hi, Thanks for the steer. I think it may have been this thread : https://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=28420&p=149059#p149059 That topic was a close second to the one I was thinking of. Sure wish my memory was better  In any case, Richard has said what I would have added myself, wha...

BB Private Message storage limits...

I was wondering if it were ever going to be possible to increase either the number of folders you can create in the private message area, or alternately, increase the amount of messages that can be stored there. In the year or so that I have been with the community, it is the single hardest thing to...

Re: Creating forum/comment web pages using Livecode

Something came up a little earlier this year that *sounds* like what your asking about, though I don't know the limitations that will eventually be hit. The thread was talking about taking users comments and placing them in a field, separating the comments, etc. I believe the thread started using a ...
