Re: [SOLVED — Thanks] Searching using commom words?
Thanks for the responses to my post. Richmond62: Which search engine would that be then? That would be the built-in search tool for the forum. (I always forget that I can use outside search engines. Thanks for the reminder.) jacque: Yes, I am aware that the two entities are separate. I was trying se...

Searching using commom words?
I want to search the forum for posts about the "use-livecode list" (because I've stopped getting posts from there and I want to see if the list is down or if the problem is on my end). I didn't use the hyphen in the search because the hyphen would indicate to ignore the following word. But the searc...

Re: Newbie-Simple Desktop Application
Congratulations on getting this working for you! I have an interface suggestion that may or may not be helpful, depending on how you use your stack: Try automatically setting the background colors of the columns with Yes/No entries to different colors for the two choices (for example, a light blue b...

Re: how can run a LC script code in my standalone APP
It seems to that some basic automatic indentation would be important for new students getting used to Livecode. And, with the naviety of someone who hasn't actually tried it, it seems that it shouldn't be that hard to implement. E.g. watch for some basic keywords like on, function, if, repeat, etc.,...

Re: using google images
There is a possible, somewhat advanced, and not free solution: Tintype offers an API service to access it’s image search engine: https://services.tineye.com/TinEyeAPI You can use api's in Livecode, but I have not done so. Others would have to help you with this, if it's something you wish to persue....

Re: How to create a modal card?
*Cross-platform note:* Sheets are only used on OS X|OS X systems. If you use the sheet command on a Mac OS, Unix, or Windows system, the stack is displayed as a modal dialog box and the parentStack parameter is ignored.

Re: Solved!Problem with repeat command...probably my fault..
Lestroso, Perhaps a small correction for you: In the "myTest" handler you have this line: answer " I don't have found nothing!!" If your actual program is in Italian, and you have just translated the code here for our benefit, then you don't need to do anything. But if your stack displays English pr...

Re: Session Suggestions for LiveCode Global
It seems doubtful to me that many LC beginners would be willing to pay $299 for a few talks on introductory LC. (Admittedly, the other talks would be of interest to intermediate and advanced users.) Shouldn't material for LC beginners — dare I say it? — be free?

Re: Mycroft — open source voice assistant
Thanks for your reply Richard. I hope you do explore this as a possible platform on which to develop using LiveCode. Before going on, I should clarify for anyone else reading this, that the company is named Mycroft.ai, their development platform is Mycroft, and they produce several products. Their f...

Mycroft — open source voice assistant
I'm not quite sure where to post this, so I'll start here. This morning I came across a Kickstarter campaign for a product called Mycroft (which I have decided to back). This is an open-sourced voice (and screen) assistant (similar to Alexis). The project was funded within six and a half hours of it...
