Re: Re-Initialising mergBLE
Kudos to support@livecode.com for providing the solution I was seeking. Here is their response to my posting (although it was sent directly to them via email): ========== start of livecode response ================== The mergBLEInitialize command just initializes the library, it doesn't cause any co...

Re-Initialising mergBLE
I have been in contact with forum user: "bwmilby" who has helped me on some aspects of my problems with mergBLE... much appreciated!!... but this one "problem" remains and I desperately need to get it resolved. I am submitting this forum entry on the direct advice of Monte Goulding, the developer of...

Re: disconnect and re-connect to MergBLE
I'd like to move this continuing discussion to the MergExt forum upon the advice of Monte Goulding... please see the subject "Re-Initialising mergBLE" in that forum

Re: disconnect and re-connect to MergBLE
yes, as discovered on the other thread, I have "fixed" the "checkFrom" handle to use the "wait with messages" syntax... that works fine now. You are right (of course) why the "version" of "doNoACK" I presented doesn't work... I actually do know NOT to use a "message" handler as a "command"... stupid...

Re: no JDK path after newest Android Studio & Jave SE El Cap
so... here's the "answer" from LC support... and I sincerely hope the next person who goes looking for this "solution" finds this posting first and saves themselves several hours of frustration: "... LiveCode, generally, is happy with newer versions of Java (i.e it works on non-MacOS systems) howeve...

no JDK path after newest Android Studio & Jave SE El Capitan
I have searched the FAQ's and forum for an answer to this issue but cannot find one. After installing the latest version of Android Studio (2.1.2) and Java 8 (/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_102.jdk) on a MAC running El Capitan ...LC v8.0.2 will NOT populate the JDK path in the LC Mobile ...

how to search this forum for refernces to the "find" command
I am looking for any discussion of whether it is possible to highlight the box which the "find" command inserts. However, I can't seem to find (no pun intended) how to specify such a search. "find" is "too common a word" to search for.. and other combinations of a search like "+find +box", find 200+...

Re: Success with BLE External
I must be missing something fundamental ... Although I have an Indy license and have loaded the zip file of the "mergExt_Indy_Latest" when I run any of the example stacks using the mergExt externals, I get handling errors ... e.g,: card id 1002: execution error at line 6 (Handler: can't find handler...

Re: Incoming Serial data capture performance
Thanks again for the interest. I tried your suggestion and, unfortunately, I still get about the same amount of lost or partially lost bytes as with the "if's" and "changeBar" calls. I truly think this is only going to be solved by using an external call... now the challenge is to find someone who h...

Re: Incoming Serial data capture performance
Thank you so much for your reply! I had started this script with something very similar to your suggestion (which was great for you to have written an alternative for me!). I have inserted your approach into my app; however, it seems to make very little appreciable difference. Perhaps if I were to c...

Incoming Serial data capture performance
I am writing an Arduino to LiveCode (v7.0.1 community edition running on a Windows 7 Enterprise platform on a fairly current i7 based PC) application. I have the basic serial communication working OK but it is rather flaky and unreliable. The issue is with the Livecode side (I’ve verified the reliab...

Re: mobGUI v1.28 not working?
How in the world did you purchase it? When I click on the "BUY" tab on the MobGui site, it sends me to the Livecode Store and there is no sign (that I can find) of MobGui. This app seems to be widely used and yet there is no sign of being able to purchase it ANYWHERE! Or am I missing something?

thanks *so* much... helps to know I'm not (too) crazy! I'll use your suggestion. Should I submit it as a bug? ... if so... how.

how to use the animated "standard icons"
I just can't seem to get the "animated" icons to remain "animated" after making such a selection provided in the "image chooser" from the "Colors & Patterns" Property Inspector. The other confusing thing about these images/icons/whatever are that their ID's seem to change depending on which stack I ...
