Re: Group Script to Manipulate Child Controls

But LC starts to bog down significantly after a few thousand cards. That is why many use an external file to hold that sort of data, and load from there. Craig This post on how I save and retrieve data (encrypted or not) might be of interest. http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=33338#p1...

Re: Install Livecode Server on Windows with Windows Server 2016

When allowed by the provider to install on the windows server, my advice would be to use Xamp. I have worked with it in the past on Windows and it works fine, is free and there is a lot of documentation.

Re: Line Graph: Double X Entrys

On another note. If you really need complex graphic chart there is another way to do this. I use ECharts with the browser Widget https://echarts.apache.org/en/index.html Downloaded the online java script https://echarts.apache.org/en/download.html And depending on what chart you need you only have t...

Re: Using CSV as reference file

Could not resist.
Here is a version that imports the CSV, strips all necessary columns, and has a filter field in which you can type the postal code to filter the list.
It is pretty fast, maybe someone can make it faster 8)
ImportCSV02.zip
Import CSV and filter

Re: Using CSV as reference file

Made a little example on how I would import the file into an array and then show it in a TreeView. takes about 4 seconds. ImportCSV01.zip Below is the code in the button and you need a TreeView named 'TreeViewData'. on mouseUp set the arraydata of widget "TreeViewData" to empty answer file "Choose a...

Does your app provide the pointer tool for your users, or are you referring to your own development work while making layouts in the IDE?
I am referring to my own development work while making the layouts in the IDE.

Thanks Klaus, Paul and Richard for the great tips.

Re: Scrolling a group with the Mouse Wheel

This does not work very well on Windows. Some times it does but most of the times it stops scrolling and or does not even react on the mouse wheel.

Re: Best or easiest way to make a vertical scrolling area with fields and buttons

Found out how to put objects past the card hight (I think).

1) Make group height larger than the card (stack) height.
2) In run mode scroll up.
3) Then edit group and the area you scrolled to will be the area you can edit objects in.

Any other way's ?

Best or easiest way to make a vertical scrolling area with fields and buttons

Hi all,

I have too many fields and buttons on one card and I am wondering.
What is the best/easiest way to make and maintain a vertical scrolling area in my card in which I can place all the Buttons and fields I need ?

Paul
