ITMS-90339 UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend - UPDATE

HI all, when uploading to the Apple store I've been (as many of you) coexisting with the error message below by just ignoring it as the App anyway was uploaded/approved/released... ITMS-90339: Deprecated Info.plist Key - The Info.plist contains a key 'UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend' in bundle LuckroSpo...

Which remote DB Host are you using?

Hi, I'm in the process of selecting a remote mySQL DB Host to serve my LC App and I'm curious to know the most popular choices among the community.
Many thanks for answering the poll...

Re: Accessing a Google Cloud mySQL DB

Hi Richard, in this article https://cloud.google.com/sql/docs/mysql/external-connection-methods all the options are explained. All of them are too complicated for me, and I guess are very complicated as well to any "normal" LC developer trying to get the most out of the easy of use and power of LC t...

Re: Accessing a Google Cloud mySQL DB

Hi Richard, thanks for jumping in. Could you please tell what is your idea? I'm not sure if there is such option but in searching for the answer to your question I found this article "Authenticating users with PHP" ( https://cloud.google.com/php/getting-started/authenticate-users ) which I guess poi...

Accessing a Google Cloud mySQL DB

Hi fellows, I was able to successfully run a simple CRUD App connected to a mySQL DB hosted on Google Cloud. To be able to connect to the DB I had to define the IP address of my workstation as an "Authorized Network" in the DB Connection Configuration. Now I want to be able to be able to connect fro...

Re: Unexplained error

Hi, I normally get this error when downloading the App and my Android is not firmly connected to my Mac. Disconnecting and connecting again fixes the issue for me.

Hope it helps.

Re: How to communicate across devices? Use a database?

Dear Livecode users, letting the pricing aspects on the side I'm sorry to say that I have experienced serious performance problems with LiveCloud. I have had several interactions with Mark Talluto and the bottom line is that 100% of my users are in Brazil and since LiveCloud doesn't have a "region" ...

Re: mobilePickPhoto & Picture Quality

And the answer is: the quality of the picture (and hence the file size) is defined by the maxwidth and maxheight parameters of the mobilePickPhoto command. I should have known it ... p.s.: Since mobilePickPhoto can't be safely used on Android because it has pending to be fixed bugs ( https://quality...

mobilePickPhoto & Picture Quality

Hi all, I'm confused ( ) about how to set the resulting picture quality when taking pictures using mobilePickPhoto. Is just a matter of setting the template image (width and height properties) before calling mobilePickPhoto or is there any other (better) way? Just to show what I mean I'm attac...

Hi paulalsmith1000, just in case you haven't seen it I started with the two useful lessons below (even though the Android one is outdated) http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4069/l/53405-how-do-i-use-push-notifications-with-ios and http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4069/l/59312-how-do-i-use-push-notification...

UPDATED: TestFlight + iOS 13 Error

Hi guys, I've uploaded an App and released it for testing with Testflight. Users that are not running iOS 13 do not report any problem. One user that is running iOS13 on an iPhone XR is getting an error message from TF (see screen capture below) when it closes the App. Other than that the App perfor...

Re: How to know if a text will fit on a label field?

Jean-Marc & Klaus, instead of resizing the object what I want to do is to resize its contents in case it doesn't fit. Your answer will certainly help to achieve my goal.

Many thanks!

How to know if a text will fit on a label field?

Hi experienced developers, I have this "fixed width, height" label field to which before setting its contents (at run time) I would like to know if the text is going to fit on it. In other words I would like to avoid to set the contents to a text that will imply that the user will need need to scrol...
