Re: Using CSV as reference file

Hi, The file contains up to 18,000 records, so looping thru this file to find values is sub-optimal. Really? A button to read 'em all: on mouseUp answer file "What file?" if it is empty then exit mouseUp put URL ("file:" & it) into myVar put the millisecs into t1 -- we got data, start timer! delete ...

Re: Font flavours not rendering

Hi, it seems that, over the years, something has changed with fonts that LC didn't kept up with - the fonts where not all font faces are combined in 1 file anymore. (Or is it only a change in Win10?) "Roboto" is such a "new font" that behaves oddly (as do many from fonts.google.com, no matter if .tt...

Re: Update SQL Query

Hi, Don't name your variables like your db fields. If you want to use a variable explicitly for a db field "dishname", call it "tdishname" or "mydishname" or thedishname" or such. This will save you a lot of headache. . Clean up your quote characters, you only use 3 of then: ' - single quotes: to qu...

Re: LC server install on a shared host without root

Hi, well, it's not my server - it's one of my customers. And we'll stay with allInkl - these are production systems, and a lot of ppl are depending on it to earn their bread. This provider so far has proven as: Highly reliable (nearly 100% uptime during the recent years) Very quick support response ...

Re: mySQL install: which password setting works with LC

Hi, cannot do any tests (don't have local mySQLs & those remote ones I use are not to be fiddled with ...), but as I see it & read the docu there shouldn't be a problem as long as you only use passwords to connect, and not the "PASSWORD()" function: If you [...] run the server under conditions where...

LC server install on a shared host without root

Hi all, I finally did it - after untold frustrating attempts I finally got my first: Hello World! 12:01 PM from an LC server. My problem was that I'm on a shared server (allinkl.com), and have no access to the apache configuration & only limited access to the file system, so most of the advises give...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Hi, 1. What is preventing the .apk from being installed on to my Android Smartphone (either my project or the unaltered SQLiteAndroidDemo? Probably the StandAlone Settings. I tried the stack with "Development/ Test" (see sphere's post above), and so didn't need to install. Additionally I see that I ...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Hi, There must definitely be a problem within my script. I have made so many different amendments that I am slightly loosing the thought process. Hehe, this is all but unknown to me. It's usually when I start to delete perfectly good code to solve a problem that hides somewhere else ... A good way t...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Ooops. "membershipdatabase. db "? This doesn't look like SQLite. What's that? AFAIK it's a generic extension that can contain anything - what connection type you're using? I just assumed you'd use SQLite - local on Android it seemed obvious ... If it's actually a SQLite try to rename it to "membersh...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Ooops, forgot: Jacqueline provided some nice infos for mobile debugging some time ago, and this gave me some ideas. So I'll provide my basic Android debugging tools here. They are raw, buggy & unpolished, but nevertheless they have proven quite useful rather often ;-) Put this into your stack script...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Hi, this looks nasty. And I need to apologize, my last example was meant as pseudo-code, and contained errors. I tried to re-create the problem, and ran into a nasty ugliness in my trusty old LC 6.7.10 - there you need to add the database libs in the Android section of the StandAlone properties, add...

Re: Repeat around SQL Selects...

Hi, I suggest you don't repeat at all. This gives you a nice list of the last 100 days, and a job count each for user "Anton": SELECT datum, bearbeiter, COUNT(id) AS jobCount, DATEDIFF(DATE(NOW()),datum) AS daySince FROM `auftrag` WHERE (DATEDIFF(DATE(NOW()),datum) < 101) AND (bearbeiter LIKE 'Anton...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Hi, when you add your "myDB.sqlite" in the "copy File" sttings, it ends in specialFolderPath("resources"). This isn't good 'cause you cannot use it there. You have to copy it to specialFolderPath("documents") before! on openstack if not (there is a file (specialFolderPath("documents") & "myDB.sqlite...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Hi, "Update details" and "Delete member" work in the IDE, but not on mobile? Smells like you don't include the necessary database libraries. Check in the "Inclusions" pane of the "StandAlone Application Settings" - you need both "Database" and the db-specific one ("SQLite", "mySQL" ...). Btw., dunno...

Re: Creating Apps for use on Android mobile phones

Hi, You could also check if there is still a connectionID [...] Unfortunately, the existence of a numeric ConnectionID (or an existing entry in the revdb_Connections/ revOpenDatabases) doesn't mean the connection actually still exists! revdberr,MySQL server has gone away is what you can expect to ge...
