Re: creating game - moving enemy

Oh, thankyou. And the movingtime? looked also like a custom property because of your emboldened definite article, but not so, nothing in the stack property and nothing in the image property inspector either.

Re: creating game - moving enemy

I have a question for you capellan, or if someone else might be good enough to answer I would appreciate it. It concerns just one line of script in your card in the Keydown message namely: if tKey is in "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,q,w,e,a,s,d,z,x,c" and the tEnabled of this card <> false In the above your te...

Re: Livecode Dictionary or something?

Hallo Lemon...etc :D If you open up LC you will see a dictionary top right in the toolbar. Below are just a few links for your entertainment: http://livecodesupersite.com/tutorials.html http://livecode.byu.edu/indexgeneric.php https://sites.google.com/a/pgcps.org/livecode/home These should get you g...

Re: Two different scripts to achieve same outcome problem

You know, your answers are so obvious. I think I must be burned out or something. The 6 comes from the debugging, then I realized afterwards that if you hover the mouse pointer over each varibale it gives its value. So that 6 came from the debugging as I stepped through each individual line. Unfortu...

Re: Two different scripts to achieve same outcome problem

Hallo Craig, No this direction was not intended. It was only the horizontal left right move that was intended. This is what I do not understand. However I had presumed that not coding for the up and down arrow would have meant that they would not work. Guess I do not understand this message properly...

Re: Two different scripts to achieve same outcome problem

The problem is that the "sub" button moves left upwards diagonal as if it were scripted with the "relative" co-ordinates. Not only that all 4 arrowkeys move it in exactly the same direction.
I have uploaded screeshot of simple stack layout.

Two different scripts to achieve same outcome problem

Both scripts at card level. Each in its own stack. This first one works fine as is, but I still after so long a time can not understand how to correct any mistakes in this second script. Debugging has not helped in this instance because I am unable to understand all the nuances of what the debug is ...

Re: Sheep Herding Trials

Hallo Neil, well the mystery deepens. I'll try and keep it short - know you're tired. Basically I changed all the handlers in your stack to desktop handlers since they were the names used for android/IOS; I commented out the "put 30 into sLevel", and basically changed only that code that was specifi...

Re: Sheep Herding Trials

Have just discovered what that line of code might have been for now, after testing the game thoroughly I see the sheep duplicating on top of the grouped controls and the 'pen'. So now maybe something need to be inserted for this. With the code re-inserted it allows you to insert 3 sheep and then it ...

Re: Sheep Herding Trials

Aha No...But if it's nonsense...why neil's response? Anyway no matter, it's fixed, it works, the whole thing that is. And I thank the LC team that I could actually learn so much from the instructions and exercise from their donation of a free game with PDF and video. And now with my new knowledge ab...

Re: Sheep Herding Trials

You know Klaus please please believe me, when I was first writing this I thought that it was odd. BUT because of the authority by whom it was written I did not question it, (not at my early stage), I actually thought that any fault had to be mine or a bug. So it now works as expected. But when Neil ...

Re: Sheep Herding Trials

Sorry Klaus I have no idea what you are saying. Firstly I can not see a fault in any of these lines. Secondly, they are EXACTLY what is in the pdf and the video. Now this does not make them right, but I can tell you that all I get from LC is lock after lock after lock. But I can not see what on eart...

Sheep Herding Trials

A) Debugging shows everything is fine except for pTarget line 81 where the error is: error in object expression. Have no idea how to correct this. What is Important is that on two shut downs I noticed a split second image of a background behind a background where suddenly THOUSANDS of button sheep l...
