offset returns bizarre artefacts

Hi, I took Peter Brigham's 'offsets' routine, found in his 'TextLib' stack function offsets str,tContainer, includeOverlaps -- returns a comma-delimited list of all the offsets of str in tContainer -- returns 0 if not found -- third param is optional: -- offsets("xx","xxxxxx") returns "1,3,5" not "1,...

Error List

Hi,

shouldn't there be a Livecode wide error list ?

Code: Select all

put length(the cErrorsList of cd 1 of stack "revErrorDisplay")
returns 0.

My examination of the stack "revErrorDisplay" in package "LiveCode Community 8.1.3" for Mac found no data.

Script: Select a range of chars in revScriptEditor

After an operation "Find Strings in Scripts" the field "FoundList" (autohilite & listbehavior) contains a list of founds, e.g.: field id 1018 of card id 1002 of stack "/A/LiveCode 8.1.3 ƒ/Edit ƒ/pdA.livecode" (tab) 14,31 LineClick in this field sends "RetrieveInScript", which opens the script editor...

Select a range of e.g. buttons by script

Hi, in card 1 I have a layout of 4 x 25 buttons. In the following cards I need an each different number (1 … 7, 25 … 40, …) of them. Creating and outfitting buttons on their cards is very time consuming. Is there a scripted option, to select, copy and paste such a range of buttons, fields, … at a si...

Re: Zero Contents - Giant Size

Hi, thank you all, you nothing but most prestigious LC experts … I seem to own a unique stack: it has 1 card (1500 x 1000 pixels), but absolute no controls, no custom properties, no images, no graphics … but a file size of 88 MB. Compacting and | or saving works well (but time consuming) per menu or...

Zero Contents - Giant Size

Hi, after a lot of usual editing and testing operations on a newly created 1500 x 1000 pixel stack of 4 cards, I realized this stack's obscene size of 88 MB. I deleted all cards but the first one, all scripts, all buttons, fields, images, graphics, players … I have left over a stack, that now has a ...

Re: ColorName to RGB function

@ mwieder » Thu Dec 17, 2015 9:37 pm In LiveCode 8.1.0 the cited lists are incorrect: • they contain 555 lines instead of 552 lines of the ColorNames function. • some lines are duplicates. • "gray9" until "gray17" have the same values. In LC 8.1.0 some gray colors like "Gray3,Gray4,Gray5,Gray6,Gray7...

Same system, same code, diff. Macs, diff. results

Hi, I have built a stack, that gathers a list of '.scpt' and '.applescript' file paths from hard disk, then creates a new card for each file and finally pastes the files' script into the card's devoted field. This succeeds with Mac Book Pro 17'' (Mid 2009), but fails with Mac Pro (Mid 2010). On both...

Re: LC 5.5 accepts, LC ≥7.0.5 denies

Hi, Klaus,
Try to "set the DontUseQt to false" in the "preopenstack" script.
I would have preferred to say "Thank you, that's it …". So I say "Thank you".

The recent versions of LiveCode seem to have lost their player's ability to display files of type PDF.

Regards

Re: LC 5.5 accepts, LC ≥7.0.5 denies

Hi, Klaus, thank you for your lines. But sad to say, they did not help. Quickly I have put a button, a field and a player into an artless stack. I dragged a pdf-Path into the field and click this button: on mouseUp set the DontUseQt to false create player "MyPlayer" set the Rect of player "MyPlayer"...
