Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses
Personally, I'm a little surprised that the Commercial licence flat-out expires after a year. Like others I had assumed (foolish me, I know) that it was about *access to updates* for a year. That's was my thought too. The current business model is good only for the company and to be honest, the ope...

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses
Hi all, My intention here was to try to understand what really happens when your commercial (whatever you are using) license expire. What I understood from Xojo is that the license servers basically to keep Xojo updated and to provide support. But once the license expired, you can continue to work a...

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses
Hi Mark, Thank you for your reply. It was very educative. To be honest, I would love to see LC without so many restrictions. The company revenue is a killer. Another thing that is not clear on LC site is what will happen when your commercial license expire? Will you be able to continue working on yo...

LiveCode vs Xojo licenses
Hi guys! I would like your opinion about the LC licenses. Is the current LC license scheme a shoot in the foot? Company Revenue Limit??? Come on!!! If you compare the LC licenses against Xojo, you will see that Xojo is way simpler. Xojo even allows you to keep working and deploying it after the lice...

Web servers panel
Hi guys,
I hope this is the right place for this question.
I'm wondering if is possible to build a simple panel where I can start/stop apache and mysql? In other words, how do I interact with those servers?
Thank you!

Re: What is the main concept to learn?
Hey Simon, Thanks for your reply. I'm looking at the documentation and tutorials. There are a lot of them out there :? But it's only me or are the tutorials a bit fragmented? I mean, i'm feeling there are gaps between them. For a beginner may be hard to 'connect the dots'. Do yo have any recommendat...

What is the main concept to learn?
Hello guys, For people that are web developers - HTML, CSS and PHP - what is the main concept that you need to learn about LC? Because I feel that is a totally new paradigm to work/learn. PS: I need to be honest, I haven't used a visual development environment for a long long time. First time I open...

Re: Unclear licenses
Thanks FourthWorld for your explanation.
Just to be clear. What happen if you don't renew your license? Do you 'lose' all your work? I mean, you cannot deploy and maintain anymore commercial apps. Is that right?

Re: Unclear licenses
Thank you. So, the license is valid per one year. It means that if I want to keep the commercial license, I have to pay $500 every year, is that right?

Unclear licenses
Hey guys, I just found LiveCode and I'm finding it too good to be true :-). The only sad thing I found is that there is no Native OSX UI  But I read that you are working on it! I'm quite confused with your LC versions. Could you please clarify that? For example the LC community. I understood th...
