Re: Interacting with Groups

Hi A1, the reason why the groups you addressed did not work is the that when you delete an entry you delete all the fields of the group but do not delete the group itself. This leads to a lot of groups with the same name. When 2 controls have the same name and you address that control by name it wil...

Re: Interacting with Groups

Hi A1, I made a little stack that lets you explore a grouped field when moving the group, setting the rect of the group, lockLoc - ing the group etc. Also it lets you set the textSize of a group which will only affect the field if it has not set a textSize set of its own. Only then it inherits the t...

Re: Interacting with Groups

I don't quite understand what exactly you are trying to do but an unlocked group will always fit the content of the group (+ margins of the group) If you want to cut off some of the group's content then set the lockLoc of the group to true. If you just change the top the group will move down/up so y...

Re: Unexpected result when calling a handler in a group script

I think this is a simple chunking error. "me" works for these properties Command DestinationVolume return the rect of field "Destination" of me return the owner of me return the rect of control 1 of me return the name of control 1 of me return the number of controls of me end DestinationVolume comme...

Re: Gradient Property Palette Bug

Hi Al, In the screenshot, Why the Gradient palette shows two Ok buttons while "Mirror" and "Wrap" disappeared? because you opened two palettes, Properties Inspector does not like this. I have seen it before and reproduced it just now. PI assumes you close a palette once you are done with the setting...

Re: Gradient Property Palette Bug

Hi Al, looging a little more into this the it does not become clear what happens but you can tell when. I made a little stack that tracks the "colorOverlay" of the templateGraphic every 200 milliseconds trackTemplateGraphicOverlay.livecode.zip when starting LC 9.0.1 open this stack and start watchin...

Re: Gradient Property Palette Bug

Hi Al, when you import you use the templateGraphic in button "bz4" you use the templateGraphic without resetting it. if you reset the templateGraphic before using it I can not see your problem anymore. you can test the templateGraphic from the message box: put the colorOverlay["color"] of the templa...

here is a cleaned up version of the first stack I posted.
Additionally there was a small glitch in there too.

Re: Built-in properties

I've looked at the source, and the font is a pointer to the current effective font of the widget to include the textFont, textSize, and textStyle properties. There does not appear to be a way to individually address any of those properties from inside the widget. You could use "execute script" I su...

Re: Non sorted tree view display

Okay, I gave it another try: This is a horrible hack I take a list of what I want to display as a "menuList" i.e. a list that keeps the original order of the list. The problem in just passing this list as an array with the lines of the list as keys is that arrays beyond 9 keys are not ordered. TreeV...

Re: Non sorted tree view display

James, I don't think the slide was a fudge but it was from a version that was more advanced than what was covered in the video. Elanor did say that she wanted to put the modified version up on the extension store once it is finished. And for a menulist, that is how she called the modified version, a...

Re: Default Script

the default script did not work for me either.
I resorted to make a button that sets the script.

but Hermann's solution might be easier.
