Re: on openCard, is there a bug?
Hi, Thank you all for your responses. It's completely clear to me. However, I still don't understand the purpose of the “open card” message in Edit mode. If you go to the card to edit the card in edit mode, that's not very handy in my opinion. But your responses helped me a lot. thanks, joop p.s. Da...

“Coding Nine LiveCode Games” by Scott McDonald?
Hi On 04/03/2014 I bought a PDF book from Scott McDonald entitled “Coding Nine LiveCode Games”. This PDF remained unread on my HD until I retired. In this Corona (Covid-19) period I have conceived the plan to continue with my hobby, programming in LiveCode. Now I came across the above pdf again and ...

No activation file found after updating LC indy
Hi, Previously, after an update of Live Code Indy it automatically searched and found an activation file. I only needed to confirm it. Then Live Code booted. Now, when I startup an update, I get the message "no activation file has been found". First I have to create an offline activation file and do...

Why does "Record sound file path" not work under Live Code 8
Hi, In 2009 I built a stack using LiveCode 4. This stack took sound recorded via the internal microphone and wrote the sound to a sound file. This sound could then be played again. When a new sound was recorded, the old file was overwritten. Now I'm trying to make this stack Running under LC 8.1.1 (...

Re: difference in window update between OSX and HTML5
Thanks [-hh], Thanks for explaining that what was a mystery for me. My problem was: The "wait"syntax is still not supported. (Nor the beep) (see my post dated October 23) I’m not a pro. I’m a retired teacher, grandfather and would help my grandson with the problem of automating calculations (additio...

difference in window update between OSX and HTML5
Hi, I discovered a difference in the moment the window is refreshed during "running the script." In OS X the screen will be refreshed immediately after the execution of a "script-line". While in HTML5 refreshing of the window only occurs after the entire script is executed. In my example script you ...

HTML5 problems with wait, beep and focus syntax
As Lenko did, I have been trying the HTML5 standalone in version 8.1.1. The "wait"syntax is still not supported. This is required for my app to work right. It works as a standalone app on my mac, but not in the html5 standalone with Safari. I saw there is a work around, but I could not find an answe...
