Re: Livecode and calendar support

You can use applescript in livecode, for example: ########CODE####### put "tell application " & quote & "Finder" & quote & cr & \ 20 20 "open application file " & quote & "ical.app" & quote & " of folder " & quote & "Applications" & quote & " of startup disk" & cr & \ 20 20 "tell application " & qu...

Livecode and calendar support

Hey all! I'm working on a project at the moment, and one thing the user would like is to have is calendar support. They'd like to be able to make an event in the app that will link with a few other user's apps and their iCal account, and let them all see the calendar event. They also need to be able...

Re: Randomness Test Gone Horribly Wrong

So, I decided to make an extra step in your code Max to let me see each step (I changed it from 1200 to 12 so I wouldn't be waiting for ages :P). I also added a bit that would save the previous result and compare it to the new result each iteration, and through iterations, sometimes it would add 1 (...

Re: Converting Date and time for import

I had a bit of a play around with it, and got it down to 12 lines, which is almost half as short if that helps :). The main thing was I cheated a bit with having everything in the one variable. Also with the dates, I used a repeat loop for that, and did the time calculation in a few less steps :) pu...

Re: Standalones (Including LC itself) still running after cl

I'm running LC 8, and have upgraded from DP13 up through to the stable release from the other day - none of them have stuck around after closing. That said, I did some stuff with sockets a few months ago with LC 7 I'm pretty sure, and when I was doing that, every so often LC didn't close properly as...

Re: Repeat with a list

My attempts to spit the list into a few lines have all failed. I see that the symbol to use is "\". How can I do this? repeat for each item tItem in "Black10Record,High10Record,Low10Record,Odd10Record,Even10Record,Red10Record,Black20Record,High20Record,Low20Record,Odd20Record,Even20Record" set the ...

mobilePickPhoto help :(

Hey everyone! Sorry to be posting so many questions here lately, I've been trying to get the last parts of my app finalised :(. So, I've come across some weird behaviour (as far as I can tell) with mobilePickPhoto. Basically, what I have at the moment are some photos that are stored on a user's Drop...

Re: Changing graphic Type

Hey DavJans! So, I'm still a beginner, so I could be wrong, but I think I've got an idea :P Your mind is right, just the wording isn't quite right - instead of set the Type of "L1", try using style, like this: set the style of graphic "L1" to "line" Keep in mind that for a line, you need to have poi...

Re: Native looks for iOS

I personally like Dropbox because I don't need to manage a server. That's a good point. After thinking about it, I've decided to stick with Dropbox, mostly because it's already coded, and partially because I want it to be as easy as possible for my bosses (who aren't the most computer literate peop...

Re: Native looks for iOS

Hi Michael, Just dropping in here to check if dropbox is your only option. If not, check this out. http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19144 Splash21's stack works great. Simon That does sound like a good option, though I don't know much about it, so I'll need to research it. The only is...

Re: Native looks for iOS

It's tmControls, by the way, and it's worth the money. Not only does it help me make great-looking interfaces, but the source is unlocked, so I have been able to make changes to it where I have wanted to add something-or-another, and Scott has been very helpful in making suggestions between updates...

Re: Native looks for iOS

use tmc for the interface. mergext has nothing to do with interface, just like tmc has nothing to do with dropbox. Because gugliermo's library is native LC, it works on all platforms. mergext is more limited. I believe the dropbox external is ios only. The external will not necessarily be faster, b...

Native looks for iOS

Hey everyone I'm making an app for my bosses at the moment, and they want it to go out on iPad/iPhone. I'm still pretty new to iOS deployment, so just want to get a few things straight. I know (though not much yet) about Livecode's native fields using mobileControlCreate, but not much else native st...

Re: Standalone Settings problem...

Maybe check that your SDK's are correct? When I upgraded to DP 15 and 16, I had to manually tell Livecode where my Android SDK and JDK were for some reason. Not sure why, because up until that point I never had an issue, and I'm programming for Android at the moment, so it could be different, but it...

Re: How to move everything

It works without grouping I think! There's a bit of a bug that I'm trying to figure out with regards to my calculations on how much space the keyboard takes up, but I think it's good! I was so preoccupied with whether or not I could group everything that I didn't stop to think if I should :P!
