Re: MOBGUI, TMtools and native controls?

I would like this officially clarified as well. A lot of the Summer School lessons relied on using Mobgui, but from what I've been reading Mobgui is dead. It was one of the biggest reasons I bought into LC in the first place. Is there going to be something comparable in 6.5?

Today's Lesson 6 webinar

I missed almost all of today's Lesson 6 session. I got on at the very end and heard something about "We'll meet again tomorrow for Q&A" or something like that. Can anyone tell me what's up? Also a couple of the Summer School Content links for this lesson doesn't work for me (xml, json, jpeg).

Re: Lesson 3 Locked Up

there is an arrow at the top left of the editor you need to click on to escape the debug mode. I think its a blue arrow. Hey Pip, I just ran into an error and realized what the button looks like now; its a blue box. Not arrow. See the attached image. This is what stops the debugging mode and allows...

Re: Lesson 6 - Web Services: pre-lesson research

Thanks for the tip Richard! So LC has a way of handling associative arrays that is an alternative to using XML/JSON, and you would use arrayEncode/arrayDecode to access the arrays on a database(?) if the server and client were both made out of LC. Correct? How do you organize the arrays, with someth...

Lesson 6 - Web Services: pre-lesson research

Next week's lesson on 9/10 is to cover "This lesson will demonstrate how to use XML, JSon and RSS data and display it in LiveCode." Here's a few links I found about the technologies: http://www.xmlnews.org/docs/xml-basics.html http://www.copterlabs.com/blog/json-what-it-is-how-it-works-how-to-use-it...

Re: Lesson 3 Locked Up

Are you locked up at the script editor? Like the error appears in the script editor and in the bottom pane is a red x, I think. If so, there is an arrow at the top left of the editor you need to click on to escape the debug mode. I think its a blue arrow. Not sure if this is the problem you're havin...

Re: Database to Data Grid and back again - best methods

I really feel that Livecode would benefit from a more structure approach to learning with theory and basic principles being explored first, progression from there in logical steps to discussing specific applications and those being explained with multiple examples and possible ways of solving the p...

Re: Can't get alt - double click to work

I am compelled to ask those reporting trouble with alt-double-click: what version of the app are you using? As mentioned in the thread I've used both 6.1 and rc3. jehoz has used both rc2 and rc 3. I have noticed that if I close MobGUI and re-open it from the Development -> Plugins menu then alt-dou...

My work-around mentioned earlier stopped working, and the problem still persists. I don't get it. Is there no solution for this?
