Re: Livecode asks for a newer version than exist?

Thank you for that link. It was a little bit confusing, as I had to install Android Studio 3.0.1 for Linux, but then in Configure > SDK Manager > Tab "SDK Platforms" chose Android 4.0.3 (IceCreamSandwich) which adds API 15 as shown in one of the columns behind.
Thank you, Richmond 62.

Livecode asks for a newer version than exist?

I made a little stack and wanted to save it as standalone application. It went well for MacOS, Windows and Linux, but not for Android. I installed Android Studio before, but if I point in the Preferences > Mobile Support > Location of Android development SDK root, I get an error message "The chosen ...

Re: Multi-Lingual LiveCode?

I think hypercard haden't translate code because that was a very big job and that we need a commun langage to exchange between developer from different countries. Hello Jean-Marc You probabely misunderstood my posting. I never proposed to translate the code. The code is the code. The Thing that cou...

Re: Help Us Take LiveCode Open Source

The "open language" feature will mean translation of livecode itself into some form of french or other languages becomes a possibility. Hello heatherlaine, I am just wondering what happend with this open language Feature, you wrote in 2013 and Georgia Hutchings made an allusion in 2014 ( https://li...

Re: Translate!

There is another translator with less languages than Google, but better translations: deepl.com. They have an API, just have a look here: https://www.deepl.com/api-reference.html
When I understand it well, smaller use is for free, larger textes have to been paid.

Re: Multi-Lingual LiveCode?

Would LiveCode grow much more rapidly if there were native German or Spanish versions? Dear Craig, If I answer directly to your question: Yes, I think so. But not like you thought it would be in detail. LiveCode's great-grandfather (HyperCard) had a great success in the German-speaking and French-s...

Re: How to put LiveCode in the hands of more teachers/studen

I am asking for an EDU event with a LiveCode focus in Pittsburgh from any time from May 2017 to August 2017, That is the only way. Teacher use, what they know or what they learnt on an Event/teacher training. Many years ago, many teachers worked with HyperCard. Why? 1. HyperCard was localised. That...

Re: Translation forum request

The only related information I have found is a post in the LiveCode blog called Lost in Translation by Georgia Hutchings on October 23, 2014 (sorry, my account permissions won't allow me to put links here). Here is the link: https://livecode.com/lost-in-translation/ (I am wondering to, what happend...

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

Well, I wouldn't bother to translate it into Bulgarian for the simple reason that ALMOST ALL children and ALMOST ALL programmers in Bulgaria have a sufficiently good level of English to cope with LiveCode already. I disagree with that. Of course, today in many countries children learn English at sc...

Re: Localisation (L10N)

Actually, there is a survey about LiveCode. There is a question about your first language and if you are interested in a localisation. If you want to complete the survey you can access it through:

Re: Unicodification progress?

Localisation (menus and dialogs) to Japanese is also awaited! If that action is being taken, I can help you with that (I'm a native Japanese who has good English skills) Maybe you will be interested in this survey about LiveCode. There is a question about your first language and if you are interest...

Re: Localization : how to

I proposed that the GUI of Livecode could be localised. So we could translate somewhere the terms and we would have our French livecode.

Please, leave a comment on this post.
